The Business Couple

I got up really early this morning to take Chad to the airport. He began his internship with Protiviti today and they flew him to the LA office for intern training. He is the only intern in the Salt Lake office this summer, so they wanted him to do his first two days of training with other interns. I was pretty sad though to be dropping him off at the airport. This is our first time apart since we have been married and I'm sure I'm not going to like it.

Leaving our Apartment Complex this morning

Fortunately this is only a 2 day, 1 night adventure because I pick him up at the airport late tomorrow night. Unfortunately, he leaves me again Sunday morning for Orlando where he will spend the week participating in simulations for the Protiviti Intern Challenge. Don't worry though, I'll pick him up again next Friday night and then leave him on Sunday evening for a business trip of my own!

This pretty much summarizes how our summer will be. It's going to stink being away from each other, but we are so grateful for the opportunities Protiviti and Certiport are giving us to learn new skills and develop our careers.  Plus, doesn't the saying go "Distance makes the heart grow fonder?"

Here's a list of places we know at least one of us will travel for business this summer:

  • Los Angeles, California
  • Orlando, Florida
  • San Diego, California
  • Reno, Nevada
  • Helena, Montana
  • Butte, Montana
  • Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Lubbock, Texas
  • Albuquerque, New Mexico
Kind of crazy. All I know is, you may as well start calling us "The Business Couple."

  1. I HATE being away from Matt, so I can completely understand! I kind of worried that we'll have to be apart for an entire summer next year because I have my job in Indiana and he'll likely have an internship somewhere else!

  2. Yuck! Being away from each other for an entire summer sounds horrible! I'll start praying for you that Matt can get an amazing internship in Indiana.

By the way, thanks for reading! I'm glad to know someone enjoys this :)
