Yesterday was a tearful day, literally and figuratively. In the morning it was tears of joy and in the evening it was tears of sadness.
My Uncle Randy was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints yesterday morning by his son, Jeremy. It was such a happy moment to see him take this first step in the gospel plan! I am so happy for him and his family, because I know how much happiness living the gospel of Jesus Christ brings. Thank you Uncle Randy and Aunt LynnAnn for your examples of faith! I love you so much!

And, as anyone who knows me can imagine, the tears of sadness were due to the BYU-Utah rivalry essentially dying. Yes, the very emotional tri-ending was sad, but I'm mostly upset that we won't get to experience that emotional roller coaster in the coming years. Even losing to those icky Utes is better than no game. So shame on the coaches and athletic directors who let the rivalry die. College football will not be quite as good.

Schools Out!
Chad finished his finals while I was at work, so he sent me the email below:
To: Kandace Hyland
From: Chad Hyland
Subject: DONE!
SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER!
SCHOOLS OUT FOREVER!
SCHOOLS BEEN BLOWN TO PIECES!
Can you tell he was excited to be done? He's now three classes away from graduating and we are so excited! He has an amazing internship with Protiviti this summer, then classes this Fall and he'll graduate in December. Yay!!!
Speaking of graduating, it's the best to be a BYU graduate! Although it was slightly anti-climatic because I graduated in December, it was still fun to attend the official graduation ceremony and have so many people there to support me.
Suzanne said it best when she said, "Kandace's parents deserve a big payback for helping her through BYU. Chad and Kandace will graduate debt free!!!! What a great start." It's so true! I owe them so much, but as my mom always says, "The best payback is a child doing what's right." I plan to do exactly that. I love you mom and dad! And, Mark and Suz!
Now that finals are over and graduation is done, it's finally time to honeymoon with my handsome husband. Cancun here we come!
